When you're setting up connections for your RemoteMix account, you have the choice between two different modes of access. Let's break them down a bit to help you make the best choice for your organization.
Stream Dedicated Mixer (All Access)
This allows complete access to your audio mixing board. You'll be able to make adjustments to any mix target. We recommend using this mode if you have a mixer dedicated specifically to your live stream.
Since this mode provides access to all mix targets, you may wish to limit access to who can make adjustments using this connection. You can do this by adding a PIN to the connection, which the user has to enter before making any adjustments. This can help ensure only authorized users can access and modify the Front-of-House mix, preventing accidental changes.
Keep in mind that although you have access to all mix targets on the console, you will only be able to hear the preview audio for the mix that is being fed to your Spark.
Here's an example of what an all access view might look like:
Notice that you're able to see the Mains and Buses under Channels and Virtual Groups. The Mix Target drop down is also available for selection.
Shared Mixer (Restricted)
This allows you to select one mix target for the user to access. This is the best option if you are using the same mixer to mix both your in house audio and your live stream, since you’re probably running your live stream from an aux send or a matrix mix.
Here's an example of what an all access view might look like. As you can see, it's very similar, but you are not able to choose your Mix Target- that value is limited to the one that was chosen for you, and the Mains and Buses views are gone.
If you change your mind about which type of access you'd like to allow, you'll need to delete the existing connection and set it up again from the menu.
